A collaborative and deliberative process is much preferred to the anarcy of individual whim.
"Anarchy of individual whim" is exactly what markets are about- -on both producer and consumer sides. It maximizes individual choice and minimizes costs. And is preferable to a single choice thrust down the throat at bayonet point.

"Don't steal- -the government hates competition."
