Offhand, I'd say Hersh's reporting from 3 months earlier holds up pretty darn well, certainly better than the average Debka "scoop", or the endless axe-grinding leakage filtered through the bloviating pundits that's so popular here Win, you have this bee in your bonnet about debka. May I remind you, in December the NY Times said that we had bin Laden cornered in Tora Bora, while debka said that Al Qaeda was escaping into Pakistan and Iran with the help of Pakistanis and the Iranian mullahs. Whose scoop has held up better there? Debka's reporting -- as opposed to the speculation that they mix in with the reporting -- has held up to later established facts nearly as well as the mainstream papers, especially if it relates to Israel -- and offers a lot more information. Of course, some stuff isn't checked as well, but you get it, and you get it sooner. You just have to know how to read it.
