Paul, I'm not sure. I'm new to T/A the past year, and I never heard of Arms before Feb of last year, and he sucked then, calling for a new bull market. I trust charts and other T/A more than his ARMS calls. That said, I find TRIN and TRINQ useful in short term moves.

i knew there was one in feb 2001 and dick arms went on cnbc to proclaim a bottom and we all knew what followed.

I thought the signal was when the 10-day moving average of the ARMS above 1.50. Lows are usually put in within a short time (0-20 days). Last year, this indicator hit 1.50 an unprecedented three times (maybe more). That was the last time I read about this.

I don't follow this indicator but maybe by now ARMS 10-day MA > 1.50 is a regular occurrence so its irrelevant :-)
