They see the absurd shambles of the current undemocratic UN ruling bodies and bureaucracy and imagine any moves towards a United Nations with laws and force can only make things more bureaucratic, wasteful and unpleasant

I don't think anyone has come up with a vaccination against violence, but when they do, we won't need peace-keeping forces, whether national or international.

In the meantime, the civilized people are vastly outnumbered by the rest, and most of us have better things to do than policing them. Maybe we don't. Maybe that's the best thing we can do, for them, and for us.

But policing intractable hot spots is a good compromise, isn't it?
