re: "Thread: I'm attending the AMD tech tour tomorrow evening"

cool! Personally, I would like to hear them answer any of the following:

Which current and past sockets a chipsets support thoroughbred? All of them or only some?

will they be publishing a list of compatible/validated thoroughbred-supporting motherboards?

Will it work on my Asus AV7 ?

Why won't they introduce a 166MHz fsb for Athlon, don't they need all the performance they can get these days?

If never, isn't that a bit silly since via, SIS, Ali support it already?

When will we see DDR in notebooks? (Why don't we see it already?)

When will we see small form factor Athlons for notebooks?

The 0.13 process, what went wrong?

Mirror bit, what went wrong?

dhellman,

Re: "I welcome questions I can pose (given the chance)."

Here's some questions that should "amuse" the AMD reps -->

1) Why is the .13um process late ??
2) Which CPUs @ .13um (if any) will be outsourced to UMC ??
3) Why do you think you can compete costwise at .13um on 200mm wafers ??
4) Do you really have yields that are "world class" ... ie defect density
of .2-.25 d/cm^2 --> or --> .1 d/in^2/layer for your .13um process ??
5) How is the .13um LowK development going ... Why not on-schedule ??
6) How is the .13um SOI development going ... Why not on-schedule ??

Make It So,
Yousef

Ask the AMD personnel why Jerry promised that AMD would not drop below the 533 MHz delta between Intel and AMD CPUs, yet only three months after the promise, AMD is now 800 MHz behind Intel.
TIA,
Monica

Here is something you won't see in many 760MPX boards, functional USB 1.1 and dual RJ45 ports. Yes Tyan has the fixed USB on the Thunder K7X, has dual NICs, and the video out that 1U servers will rely on. slota.com
