Somebody on another thread was talking about a conversion that they overheard at a diner this weekend. Apparently, some housewife was talking about shorting the market. Just as a lot of people got burned in the tech bubble a few years ago, a lot of novices will probably get caught short when the market turns around and lose a lot of money.

As we all know, the market can turn on a dime. Bin Laden found dead, up 100 points. Mideast peace deal, up 100 points. Strong employment numbers, up 100 points. Strong chip sales, up 100 points, etc. I just hope MaryJane housewife reaslized how risky shorting can be, especially with a market that has sold off as much as this one has.
