Do you have fireflies?

Yes, we do have fireflies. Sometimes there are thousands of them zooming in long, lazy arcs across out in the pasture or on our lawns. One of the most memorable displays of fireflies that I can remember was when I was hiking back down Mt. Philo in Vermont late in the evening. There were thousands of fireflies arcing through the air all around me, going much higher than they normally do because of the steepness of the mountain slope and also the height of the Wild Columbine that was growing so thickly beneath the forest cover.
