jtech, WOW! I respect your opinion, but it scares me. What you're suggesting perhaps is that before anybody invest in the Market they need to sign a waiver that they understand the Market is manipulated by a bunch of crooks, many of which work for the government or in conjunction with the government. Further in order to succeed you have to be astute or lucky enough to be playing the Market or a stock the same way the crooks are. In fact, you seem to be saying that's the best or only way you win, not by researching and doing your DD, but by being on the same side as the crooks. This means going "long" when they do and going "short" the minute they do as well. And you're really OK with that?

You want to see a funny manipulation? Look at AETH today-Merril proposed to downgrade but mistakenly upgraded so Im sure they were short the stock.They must have understood they made a mistake since they were losing thier arse,so what do they do? They call thier buddies at cnbc and make everyone think that the reason AETH was going higher was because it had made a mistake, but in reality it was because of ibm takeover rumor. The stock promptly sold off a 1$ allowing them to cover thier shorts but not at a profit then the stock promptly proceded to where it was at the start of the cnbc broadcast. They probably are shorting again or they might buy and ride it up before they downgrade again? Manipulation? Its just the way they make thier money. Our job is to figure out what is worth buying and what is worth shorting.In the end the truth comes out no matter the manipulation!
