Any insights on Monmouth or Belmont for tomorrow, Mike? Wayne? Anyone?

No turf racing at MTH, though, until May 25th, which makes for one pretty awful card for an opening day. 6th at BEL is one to watch, if not to bet.

Once upon a time I was the horniest bull you ever saw. Borrowing margin at 22%, living off a bank credit line at about the same interest rate, mortgaged to the gills (for 1980), and tapped out on the cash value of my insurance policies. I was 250% invested in closed end funds in 1982.

If I had only simply maintained that position until, say, 1996, I would be worth four times what I am now.

But I got distracted with other things in the period 1987-1995. Or rather, I began paying attention to things I had neglected. Got out of shape financially.

You really cannot invest (speculate) with only 5% of your mind and hope to succeed.
