See, I told you I'd mess it up! Actually, I will remember that joke and retell it pretty closely...it's a clever one. Why is it that so many jokes begin with..." A guy walks into a bar and says..."? My guess is that a bar is a place that invites conversation, where time becomes a non-issue and the one place where the seller's job is to respond with a friendly word....'a place where everyone knows your name'. I think what's missing from bars today is music...where you went in for a couple of pops and some movement. Maybe some rock-n-roll,some country or at least a good piano to dance to. It seems as if now the focus is wall-to-wall people and music that drowns out conversation. God forbid that you could talk and be heard. Enough of my nostalgia...let's get back to that parrot with the oboe.
