So if I read you correctly, you are saying totally privatize education and just trust that every single parent will both a) have the money to educate their children and b) be willing to use their money for that purpose.

Do I understand you correctly?

Hmm I 've come in on an interesting and spirited discussion on a topic close to my heart. I am teaching (last year) in a public school so I can honestly tell you government has NO place in education.
I live in a rural area where many of the parents home school. They sacrifice second cars, tv, vacations away from home, etc so that one parent can stay home and educate their children.
These children are educated at low cost and individually, and very very well.
And they are taught the values the parents want not the values the government "servants" want. All in all, leads to honest diversity of thought and opinion, not the better-think-the-way-we-tell you that happens in public education.
