RE <<assuming all the bad news is out. If fact, it's put in a classic double bottom. >>

Still have the SEC investigation to play out! This plus negative analyst comments and media bad news is perhaps creating potential downfall -- self prophecy. Such negative perception is dangerous. Analysts' reputations had been bruised, so now they are coming out of the woodwork to knock down WCOM at every chance! Once a glimmer of hope arises, they'll all be coming back! Hindsight is always 20-20! Hopefully, Sidgmore can do CPR on WCOM.

fns, you're right. However, there is a point when all the bad news is priced into a stock. And I would say with WCOM that we are pretty much there with the exception of the SEC investigation.......that's the wild card.

I watched the action pretty closely on Friday.......someone was trying to keep that stock from breaking $1.60 and even within the last 30 seconds, it kept going back and forth between $1.58 and $1.60 before ending up at $1.58. There seems to be support at this level. I don't think those articles in Forbes and Barron coming out on Friday were by chance.

Of course, we will know better on Monday.

You talk as if only charts and analists matter, well, remember charts only show where you have been ,not where you are going.Try studying macro economics, which you seem very willing to ignore. Also, bear in mind that if you did not understand what was going on with wcom and its bonds until it was tooo late maybe you should not be playing the market at all.
Sorry ,but thats my opinion.
