So, what do you disagree with?

A child is born to an uneducated, teenage mother, and the father is nowhere to be found -- probably either in jail or dead. The mother is capable, barely, of raising the child on her minimum wage income, but of nothing more than that.

The child is now six, the mother is still making minimum wage, she barely makes rent and food and second hand clothes for her daughter, but she manages that. But it's now time for the child to start going to school and the mother doesn't have an extra dime to send her.

In your scenario, should the child stay home or go to school, and if go to school, who's going to pay for it?

And don't tell me this isn't a real scenario. I know more than one mother like this.
