"it is the only Democracy in the Middle East" Israel is a Jewish theocracy, not a democracy in the American sense! Christian and Moslem citizens do not enjoy the same freedoms as Jewish citizens. Examples: Ninety percent of the public land of Israel was placed in a trust to be used ONLY by Jews! ( Is that democracy?) The LAW OF RETURN allows every Jews in the world to come to Israel with automatic citizenship but it denies the children and relatives of Palestinians living in Israel to return to their homelands. There are dozens of other examples that prove that Israel is NOT a democracy as we view democracy in America. Israel is a Jewish Theocracy! The Jewish Settlements which are funded by the Israel theocracy are radical fundamentalist Jewish Settlements meant primarily to expand the control of Judaism over occupied Palestinian territories. Israel is a democracy for Jews only ! All other religions and nationalities do not share the full civil rights of the Jewish citizens. In other words, Israel is not a democracy at all in the modern sense of the word.
