JDN, Three times since 1948, Arabs have launched attacks against Israel from the West Bank. After the third attack in 1967, Israel occupied the land to provide a defense buffer. There has been no change in the Arab position of desiring to destroy Israel. It would be suicide for Israel to give that land back without evidence of a fundamental change in the mindset of the Arabs. Imagine 70 suicide attacks against the US, instead of just one. Would the US show the same restraint that Israel has? It is a terrible mistake to assume moral equivalence between the Sharon and Arafat.
