The current Palestinian view about using children to explode other children:

Tariq Alghoul, a leader in the camp of Mr. Arafat's Fatah movement, said Mr. Arafat was clearly not referring to Palestinians when he declared last week that he was committed to the war on terrorism.

"We believe that when President Arafat speaks about terrorism that he speaks about state terrorism," he said. "Palestinians don't commit terrorism. All international norms allow us to resist occupation."

"It doesn't concern me if he didn't come to the camp and shake hands with me," said Sujood Hawashin, an 11-year-old sixth-grader in a blue-and-white striped dress. "He's someone who doesn't let us do operations." That was a reference to Mr. Arafat's call last week for his security forces to block "terror attacks against Israeli civilians."

"He's wrong," said Sujood, who declared her own readiness to die in a suicide attack. "We will not listen to him."
