Although Democrats are still trying to cling to the popular vote in order to resuscitate their parties chances in the future, the simple fact is the popular vote means very little in the Presidential race. If Texas had feared a close election, Bush would have picked up tens of thousands of additional votes, and maybe a lot more. If Big Media hadn't attempted to manipulate the process to help Al Gore by calling his victory so early, perhaps many thousands of votes for Bush would have been cast in Florida and other states. If, if, if....the bottom line is Gore lost, Bush won. All the rest is political noise and nothing else. All Al Gore had to do was win his home state and he couldn't do it. He failed to engender support from the people who knew him best. Michael p.s. Thanks for the ear company information.

Wanniski's brilliant work can only be attacked by lies and distortions such as you posted. It will, of course, outlast any lame attempt to cast doubt on it. You liberals GOT CAUGHT in 2000, and you will now be less able to try to steal these elections by fraud. It might be better if you face up to that, and start trying to get real live voters-who actually understand and believe in what you say-to the polls. But that would require you to abandon most of your archaic Marxian and anti-humanity environment fantasies and insanities. And then it wouldn't FEEL like as much FUN, would it?
