Nor do I think it necessary for there to be overtly sexual harrassing behavior for a woman to justifiably tell a man to cease and desist; and to be respectfully left alone as a result. You? " The difference is that you are snickering behind your hand because you think you can manipulate Jewel. But you cannot. Can you imagine me ever mentioning your name on the SGBR thread?? Of course, you cannot. Nor can anyone else here. I do dispute ideas as a duty to myself. After all...Every evil vicious act in the world originated in some idea. But I don't attack people except in self defense. I think Jewel's scriptures are stupid and created by humans to address human concerns. Jewel thinks my humanism is stupid, and a result of separation from "God". I have come to respect Jewel as a fine, decent human being (and this in spite of a recent situation where I considered him totally in the wrong). But I do not think his ideas about the Koran are sensible. And he is not feeble or vulnerable enough to encourage me to patronize his beliefs with half-truths or lies. Your attempt to use Jewel's recent discussion with me as an associative technique to influence his integrity is doomed to failure. You really do not understand him. He despises manipulation, and he places ultimate value on integrity. I respect that. His posts are exactly what he is--like it or leave it. You, on the other hand, are manipulative and contriving. Generally, I ignore it. But you brought me into it, so here I am...

Perhaps what is different is the fact you are not a woman and cannot exactly comprehend how it feels to be placed in such situations.... A few examples from my own life, which of course is not representative of most peoples's experiences, but perhaps may help you understand why I can clearly understand Poet's feelings. When I was about 8 years old, I witnessed my mother being beat with a stick by a man who was giving her unwanted attention.... Her teeth were never the same. My first wife was brutally raped by a man who gave her unwanted attention.... My second wife (we actually lived together for five years), was molested as a little girl by a man who gave her unwanted attention, and she never got over it and it contributed to our breakup.... My current wife has been receiving unwanted attention at work for years, and that has been causing a lot of hassle for us. So, I am somewhat an expert in the field of unwanted attention from males to females, and you are starting to appear a bit insensitive to me in this area Neocon, and frankly, it turns me off to be honest with you. I hope and pray you will see things more clearly in the future, because there are many dangerous males in our society who can pull the wool over one's eyes with lots of intelligent talk, but using big words and bragging about how many books one has read has never impressed me, because it's the real person deep inside that counts in my book.
