Sir, I do not intend to hurt you because I respect you and even enjoy reading your posts, for they do teach me more about how somebody believes. (I did not know).
But the question remains. If you do have love in you life, two ways, etc, why do you also need a god ?

Rejecting one part of God's word leads me down a path to where I will begin to create my own religion and fall into the trap the likes of the New Age movement. Anyway, for one to focus on hell as a means of convincing another of the benefits of Christianity seems ridiculous to me..

And you don't think you aren't being a new age Christian believing so ? But I would not want you to end up in a firey place , just because you might have gotten the new intimation of some things older , finally right.

Anyway, for one to focus on hell as a means of convincing another of the benefits of Christianity seems ridiculous to me.

so you do "think" some things do change anew, and evolve don't they ? So many many centuries dwelling on the dogma of Hell and Satan, and wielding the sword of Peter to spread all that love ?

So love is the answer ? As i said before , love was considered the oldest of all the Gods of the Greeks,
Eros .

Given how much of what the thinkers of the Hellenes discovered before , that still survives and thrives everywhere today in art science philosophy and religion ...yes , we should never fall into the
trap of any of that new age stuff. <G>

Of course , Jesus in his day , was quite the new age fellow himself . Without the Greek thinkers , the Judaic/Christianity wouldn't have a body of coherent thought , to speak of . They were so far superior and advanced , and so the Jews hated them so. But reason also loves love , and the Greeks had figured that out long before the sophist of Jesus came hither.

and they made him into a God 460yrs later ...it was ever a metaphor for what always was. Even the Christians figured this out , using Greek logic of course...but it is man that was always the creator of the Gods isn't it ?

the heart hath it's reasons , that reason never knows

;-)

Eros (mythology), in Greek mythology, the god of love and counterpart of the Roman Cupid. In early mythology he was represented as one of the primeval forces of nature, the son of Chaos, and the embodiment of the harmony and creative power in the universe...

And you look to the middle east now and what do you see?
Still many prophets and still so many wise mullahs, clerics , rabbai's and priests , and charismatic leaders ...and all are filled with the spirit , and all believe that they are standing amid the light shining from
the center of God and the scriptures.

So it is today , so it was yesterday , and last century , and the century before that and so on , till when you go back 2000 yrs , you have prophets everywhere , in every tribe , in every city , on every corner.

For one to recognize that love was one essence of the solution , an answer for all time and part of the underlying fabric of the unity of all life ...

well that was not something that was known or unique to anyone or even the new age religion of Christianity<g> The teachings were to take hold because they already existed in man's mind at the time , before Saul , and before Jesus .

What followed was a cult that was adopted by an empire to unify it's troops and population ...and light fires of zeal using the most popular, powerful and mysterious human emotion besides fear , that would inspire and rally the hearts of men and save the empire .

Was this a new and unique revelation at all of "Love" ,within the human mind and heart , with or without a resurrection story or a preaching Paul ?

Not at all...you say you found love ? It is a "goodness"
isn't it ? You can find it everywhere in nature thru all time ...in poetry/prose and scripture that goes back befor human written words.

;-)
