Hi John,

I'm personally not so sure about the concept of God, so to me religion is all about hope....

Religion provides people with ability to dream and hope for a better future...for themselves, for their kids, for the entire mankind.....in reality, each person really carries his or her religion within, but often, the awareness is missing from our daily lives. As such, IMO any religion cannot be good or bad....for it is never bad to hope or to dream or to try and be a better person....

Organised religion is like a school where people fall into regimented routine, it provides a standard threshold of moral behavior and accelerated awareness. Just like the success of academic institutions depends on the demographics of the school district, the moral as well as economical strength of the people living in that district and their expectations from their lives....i would say the same is true of religion.

Because its run by humans, organised religion is more like a corporate entity...instead of blind faith in the management, it requires good corporate governance laws, transparency and accountability....which is the transition the Church may be going thru....i'd say its a step in the right direction...

Sin is everywhere. Its only our denial (that it exists) which pushes it underground and thats when we lose the right to regulate it....

I've found, somewhat recently, that Budhism seems to be more along the line of what I search for ..understanding that happiness is within..no amount of organized cheerleading has any affect on me

I plan to look ..
