and if PZZA or children's place shares go up in USD terms you can still lose purchasing power -- but I know what he means -- what it forgets is foreigners can buy assets not denominated in USDs -- might be relevant -- buck is down over a point as I type ...

maybe i should have put a <g> after that particular comment, as i mean it to refer to the moronish behaviour of US money managers. its basically to say that it will be a LONGGGG time before investors SELL and just put their cash under a mattress, so given that US equity funds will have money, it will have to be invested SOMEWHERE (after all, they can't hold CASH; that would be un-American).

i don't need much capital to rotate from CSCO/IBM/GE/MSFT/ORCL/big pharma/big biotech/big consumer products (KO, G) to have a gigantic impact on the small-cap growth stocks i am talking about. (or to have a gigantic impact on gold stocks, for that matter)
