Global Market Share for Taiwan's Pdas to Hit 33.9% by 2006: Analyst

sg.news.yahoo.com

TAIPEI, May 16 Asia Pulse - Taiwan's global market share of sales of personal digital assistants [PDA] is expected to reach 33.9 per cent by 2006 from 11 per cent in 2000, an industries analyst at the Institute for Information Industry said Wednesday.
Chen Li-shin said that Taiwan should sell 18 million PDAs in 2006. Global sales are expected to top 50 million by then, a compound annual growth rate of 30.6 per cent, he added.

Chen said that despite a global economic slump and the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States, global PDA sales in 2001 still exceeded 12 million units.
