Arrow - and the wheel continues to turn <ggg>. Back when I was still around and working in IOS/MVS debug, IBM was 'king of the hill' in DASD with it's 3880 products. During the late 1980's early 1990's employee bloodbath, as I recall Tucson (DASD site) was pretty much gutted. Well, guess what, this nicely dovetailed with EMC's meteoric rise, and IBM became second fiddle in large scale DASD. I'd bet blue could not recover for so long in the area simply because of all the brainpower that retired/was let go. EMC had good stuff, but IBM just could not fight back in my opinion.

Regards,
John
