Any individual here should be able to agree that things are settle-able with you on a one-to-one basis. At one time the bigger picture could have been easily settled as well. "Hi, I am sorry for the offense that you have taken. I certainly have great respect for you and many of your ideas. I also have many fond memories of our past encounters. Well, I would love to see those times again but I will respect your wish to move on your merry way, as I will also. BTW, if you ever have a change of heart let me know. Have a wondeful life." At one time such a fond fairwell would have not only resolved all issues but left the door open for changes of heart in the future. The situation has changed, and most of the responsibility for the change is yours.
