Haim, this was obviously a response to Prince Abdullah's scolding of Dubya in Crawford, TX. I'm sure that the Republicans said, "if the SOB smarts off to the dumb drunk, we'll let the tough smart guy with the gimpy heart do a deal with the Russkies to show him he'd better cool it. And Cheney did it." However, this is a short term shot across the bow. Russia is not competitive on the price of oil in the ground. If it goes down too much, they are first out of the fight.
