I had a look at that too and came up with ~$50 bil "hard" Equity (no goodwill)

I wonder how much of that, in this day and age of paranoia, is realistic. eg. If WCOM totally liquidated everything would it be realistic that they would have - $50 billion (equity) - $30 billion (liability) = $20 billion?

Somehow I doubt it. Their equipment/network etc. is impressive but who's buying telecom equipment nowadays? Still even if you use 1/2 that number ($10 billion) that's ~ $2.50 per share. The beauty is that should the communications industry recover the numbers go up and WCOM here is a steal.

Does make WCOM seem ripe for a takeover at these depressed prices.

Question of the day: Can WCOM survive long enough till recovery comes?

Sorry KyrosL, BWAC, & Everyone, The CRAP came from a broker.

Seems that appx. 3 Billion is needed for the annual debt servicing.

How they could screw up on the 100 Billion (or 50 Billion) in assets, is beyond me.
