Susan,

thanks for posting charts.

for all i know, they can gap this thing above resistance. see how they gapped it to be above each resistance from the low ? such gaps will come back to haunt us in the future, just dont know when. ;-)

Updated Long Term Index Charts

If anyone wants to see these charts from May, when the bearflags, wedges and warning signs that just culminated in the latest move down were just starting to be hinted at in the charts at that time. This post is in response to the post with all the May charts.

The monthly charts are the ones not to miss as far as a learning experience. I myself will put even MORE weight into warning signs on long term charts than I do now after seeing these before and after charts. Even I, your resident thread bear <g> did not think that NDX or SOX bearflag would fulfill their huge downside targets. Hindsight sure is something! Frustrating to say the least.

The bearish hints warning signs were just beginning, and it's sure educational to see them next to the final results. (!)

Keep in mind these are MY chart interpretations only, bearflags and wedges do not always break down or fulfill their implied targets, strong resistance areas can easily be broken in rallies, strong support can be sliced through in a selloff, etc. In other words, anything can happen no matter what the charts say now <g>

I may have missed some "well know" support and resistance areas as I just market what I saw on the charts.
