Roebear, Harris county has jacked my real estate appraisal 10% per year for the last three or four years.

That's the maximum they can based on the law.

That can't go on forever without some kind of backlash.

Robear, >>large increases coming in local property taxes, 6-12%

We already have experienced this in our area since we have received the new property tax statements. Home and business insurance has also increased more than normal. Our state leaders have not yet been able to balance the budget and our schools are cutting costs.

Roebear, think of us poor Alaskans.

No sales tax, no income tax, mediocre to low property tax (mine are roughly $2000 on a slightly above average home), and we get a nice check back every year. Due to a projected shortfall the little buggers are likely to invoke a mild income tax and take some out of our dividend kity.

I think I need to find a new state.

Roebear re: [The implosion is just beginning."]

....have you seen the Bankruptcy stats ?

Up 15% over last year and there is talk about it ramping from there.

The Banks & Consumer Finance co's are covering up a damn ready to burst of delinquencies, defaults & Bankruptcies ...literally into unprecedented territory.

The US Dollar has broke, the Housing Bubble is next.

And I'm smellin' a derivative debacle.
