Niceguy,

Someone already pointed this out, but I was shocked by the lack of P4 systems being advertised at retail in yesterday's newspaper ads. I think it was Circuit City that had five desktops advertised: three were Athlon XP and two were Celeron - not a single P4. I went into Circuit City to check out the situation. They had a bunch of P4 systems for sale, but 1.8 Ghz seemed about the average speed grade. It appears that Intel has pulled back on their ad dollars in an attempt to make the quarter. Also, it is clear that either Intel is having yield problems at the high end, or the market is not interested in paying Intel a premium for 2.2, 2.4, and 2.53 Ghz P4s.

Intel appears to be struggling. I would not be surprised to hear of layoffs at the next CC.

Pravin.
