Max, that's really, really weird, as Johnny Carson used to say.

BTW, if you believe in weather as an omen, out here in "sunny" California, we are having a rather wild thunder storm with hail. Both thunder and hail are pretty rare around here, as is any kind of "weather," (other than sunny and mild-warm), during May.

Some will interpret that as positive, "consolidation with lower volume", particularly in view of the fact that the painters supported 1696 with vengeance. However, the fact that new highs declined by a lot and new lows increased by a lot, and the preponderance of call buyers, indicates to me that tomorrow, after a "gap up", we may once more go into the downtrend and into that 1650/96 gap from last week.

Bearish, IMO, buyers strike. Charts show me, low volume is trouble. ;-)
