You might ask your immigration lawyer whether the costs of immigration will be tax deductible as business expenses. Right off the top of my head my guess is yes. Also, in general, moving expenses to take a new job are tax deductible.

Hi David,

Thanks for the details on immigration and visas. I recall my first experience with the bureaucracy along these lines a couple decades ago. I applied for a passport, and after a couple months it came back..... and indicated my sex to be "Female". Good thing I wasn't proposing to leave the country the next week. <g>
