I agree, but there is one minor point that you have to address. I'm not using this to rationalize hatred of Muslims or Arabs...it's just a FACT. The vast majority of major hijackings and terrorist activities over the last 20 years have involved Arab Muslim men aged 20-45. If that fact doesn't mean anything, then fine. I happen to think it does mean one thing - profiling at airports isn't a bad idea. I don't consider profiling a trampling of rights. Fact is, certain types of people do certain types of things. Profiling exists for a reason. But I do agree that casting a broad net is dangerous and not well-thought out.
