I get the feeling Repubs, at least the current administration, will bend over backwards to get in as many as possible, make deals w. Vicente Fox and any others around the world, to produce as many immigrant votes as possible, to the extent they can get away with it.

At least that's what the legislation looks like.

We've got a country built on a combination of English common law and immigration, but recent events indicate some strong measures even if temporary should immediately be taken. Terrorism is only the worst, there's also the economy.

I don't trust either organized party to do what's best for those of us already here in this country. I suspect both are in it for the calculus of "what can they get away with"
