I don't think 166 MHz FSB will ever happen for K7. As far as ModelHertz, Barton (if it arrives timely) could avoid the dilemma for some time, at least a few (quanti)speed grades, and when Hammer is out, it will not matter much.

ptanner, some AMD rep categorically denied going to 166FSB for the Thoroughbred due to the time it takes to qualify such a change and he also said that going to 166FSB needs better signal quality and he didn't think it was doable in the immediate future. On the other hand most overclockers now use this speed with 333DDR with very nice results ( 7-15% ) increase in benchmarks which is a couple of speed grades.
