Not that I'm trying to argue against the possibility that AMD taped out earlier in 2001, but chances are they didn't, and the press and enthusiast community have pretty much agreed that first tapeout was at the end of last year, offering first silicon in January.

If FS had been early 2001, it took them about 15 months to bring up pong...

I doubt you have much to back that up besides speculation and wishful thinking, but go ahead if it makes you feel better.

Sure, every investor is speculating. The degree of risk taken may vary but there is always some risk.

Re: wishful thinking
So I guess you are in the camp that thinks NVidia cancelled their Athlon chipsets because they were not up to par. Now that is what I call wishful thinking.
