They took all the trees
Put 'em in a tree museum
And they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see 'em
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot

regards
Kastel
Tongue firmly placed in cheek

russett, i was away a lot when you posted this, would have responded otherwise ... interesting analogy, i might have brought up root-rot and forest fire and powderworm and itinerant firewood cutters and the US Commerzwaffe as risks, found parallels in the gold biz -g-

I don't like Barrick though, blew out the last of it at least three years ago, final straw was a line in the annual report saying to me basically we are not gonna tell you the details of our hedging contracts, you little snot ... so i said f.y. then, and its chart since has not made me sorry for it ... this came on top of resentment for their leading of the hedging movement that accentuated and prolonged the gold bear imho, abx virtually invented the strategy back a few years .... and i find it hard to believe that if they're covered so well on the downside they enjoy upside equal to producers with balance sheets clean of hedging, just can't wrap my brain around that concept ... there has to be a risk there somewhere, on one side or the other, ain't no free lunch ... and you have to admit, they won't supply all detail of contracts necessary to understand, even though they're supposedly better now than then

But my intention there really was to compliment you on the slapping around of the nickel61 poster, who has been an arrogant jerk to other posters, a real asshole to enigma/Double D [now Enigma] .... apart from the content of his ideas, some of which are way over the top, i grant you, it's his ad hominem approach that gets me, that sort of thing has no place on these threads ... fine to rape and kill each other's ideas, that's what discussion is for, but personal attacks do great damage to the value of the conversation imho .... even parliamentary language not good enough, if we don't set an example for our politicians who will -g- .... so anyway i thought that was pretty cool over there, i had lurked some of it and you put a smile on my face .... cheers
