There's got to be something else.

Sears created a philosophy with hand tools, you could always bring them back and get them fixed. I think others are doing that now also.

The public needs to get more fickle about services of all kinds, and give vendors hell. Someone will rise to the occasion.

Congress doesn't direct FCC to be effective in thwarting coercion and fraud by cable companies. Rates have skyrocketed, regardless of phony attempts at competition.

The good thing about telecom is the feasibility for metropolitan-area wireless technology, to blow the doors off of broadband... several companies are now gearing up for that market.

But still, the public's only advocates, our representatives, need to be barred from taking campaign money from those industries they provide oversight for, or have to recuse themselves from voting.
