Right now , Mush's best defense would be to root out, defang and neutralize these dog's of war on his northern borders as he promised , and establish new dialogs for the region . On his southern borders there is also the efforts to be made in gradually neutralizing the opium/heroin industry that has financed so much of the Talibanese like radical Islamists and war lord Black marketeers. Any destabilization or assailing threat to Musharraf himself , or even the slightest hint that these nukes could be armed & fall into the hands of some even more hot-head factions within the military , would probably lead to a quick , decisive and very stunning move by the US special forces to take control of these weapons, probably as fast as one Taliban caveman can say ---->Kashmir . Alot has changed in the world , even since the more recent days when the US used the Taliban and other factions within Pakistan to aid them in the former cold war with Russia , and thru attrition and costing the Russians so much depletion in morale and resources in it's former attempts to hold that region . It was partly a US construction to begin with , but what was created , can be un-created too. Those were the realities of yesterday , and such is life as it was destined to happen and the way the Cold War with Russia had to be played out . Now , the US is occupied with the new realities of another kind of adversary ....which in fact the world itself is . And that is the prevailing on many socieities , this exporting of radical Islamism and terrorist Jhiad mentality so bent on self-destruction , but not before this warped fascist absolutist relgiousity trys to destroy whatever it can take with them to their heavenly gardens with the virgins abounding ....except instead of virgins they will only find ravenous packs of dogs awaiting them in their----> "heaven ". I would hope that the people of Pakistan do know and come to find that the will of the Americans now , is to have them know peace and improving life-conditions with the addition of some newer order of education , health services , and economic aid and support with an eventual growth of sanity and weeening from the fundamentalism that has so damaged the chances for any improvement of peoples lives , and offers so little for the future but more misery and poverty , but some small reward in an imaginary afterlife of some Mullah/Clerics poundings. The US has shown already here , now in more recent times , given the chance it will support and defend the basic and most essential noble human rights of peoples of Islam when it has the humanly power to do so . It has shown that in the plight Albanians who were being so harmed by the Christian Serbs , in Kuwait with the murderous onslaught of the brigand chieftain of the backward totalitarian state of Iraq ...and now in Afghanistan with the putting down of the Taliban , who for all their "religious purity" , were not to be the fate of the Afghanistan peoples for long .<g> A new era is dawning for the crescent rose of Islam , and they can learn to grow to accept it , or go down kicking biting and screaming all the way . It will eventually be it's downfall with the reinstituting of social and economic reforms , democratic institutions , improved and modernized universal education for all people including women , which is a basic right of every human being that these Mullahs and clerics fear the most . With even the slightest improvements to the economic situation , gov't programs finally started up again to reach out to the multitudes of improverished and jobs and income become possible again for many , and freedoms insured for people to not have to fear reprisals from the jhiadists , this fanatical brand of radicalized medieval Islamism will evaporate like a drop of water on a hot stove. And this is what they fear the most ...just look at all those petro-dollars that have been taken in for so many decades , and look at how little has been really accomplished in the Arab /Islamic world and the continuing plight of masses of humans under their fundamentalist banners and petty royals . Do these little potentates, dictators and madmen have any grasp of reality at all ? Or any shame for how little they have really done for their peoples ? They still haven't grasped the issue of the equality of women , and that is one of their greatest downfalls of their civilization and emasculated them from the start. Always 50% of the total creative intellectual force of Islam has been held down and a prisoner with the suppression of women ...and the same could be said of India too wher the Caste system and brahminism must also end for good .
