Well that formula seems simple enough; ayah, right. :^)

Let me digest and get back to you on the rest. Ted

I appreciate the information and the stimulus for investigation. If you are not a teacher, perhaps you missed your calling.

I will accept Dr. Shannon’s credentials. The S-R psych experimental model is an interesting one. The influence of negative reinforcement is difficult to over come since re-testing by a subject is a random error in learned, avoidance behavior. In medicine, Lucian Israel wrote a book, “Decision Making, the Modern Doctors Dilemma.” The thesis – when decisions get tough doctors revert to previously successful decisions even if they are very irrational under the current circumstance.

I concede your point that good market system will not be believed; and the simpler and more elegant that system, the more probable its dismissal by the ignorant. The masses are addicted to smoke and mirrors, and without fanfare they are bored.

You make an excellent point concerning insider trading. I wonder if the recent changes in market notification, following Enron, wont change that a bit? An economics professor, David Colander, always emphasized that “hot tips” were DOA for useful investment information when they rise to public awareness. He voiced an intention to write a book on the subject. You guys sound alike in that regard.

Interesting points concerning WB. Also, I believe one would be shocked to learn just how many successful investors are merely lucky gamblers on a roll. Reminds me of Donald Trump.
