I'm certain that both politicians and FBIers will always wanna look busy. However, I'd think, based on the logic to what I've read, that the real reason behind the arrest was fear of flight, rather than trying to look busy.

Face it. There's enough in front of 'em to give a serious look toward Elgindy's activities not just regarding the market manipulation charges, but also--given very harsh realities--the 9/11 aspect of the case. Just think how busy the feds would look if more 9/11 evidence became uncovered and Elgindy was sitting safe in Lebanon. Why they wouldn't look busy at all, would they?

Again, does Lebanon, pretty much a Syrian puppet state, have an extradition treaty with the U.S.? And why would it given the U.S. still denotes Syria as a terrorist nation!

I think a lot of folks who've bandied back and forth with Elgindy over the past few years are gonna have to shed some denial and confront the clear fact that the government is doing what it must do in the Elgindy matter and accept the fact that Elgindy made his own bed in this.

And I write the above objectively. You see, I, like many, have my own conspiracy theories about what government does and doesn't do. For example, if you really wanna cite looking busy you've gotta look at our politician's behavior in America's very unwinnable Drug War! And there's other stuff too!!!

Some questions for you Mary, and perhaps for some others crying foul about the 9/11 aspect.

How would you feel if Elgindy didn't get busted, had his last party with friends and associates and then moved permanently to Lebanon and then it became known that in fact he did have an inside tipoff on 9/11--do you think, given your intepretation of the below article, that Lebanon would extradite him back to the United States?

As much as many here hate to admit it, there is sufficient, perhaps even more than sufficient, information now existing so as to show that all areas of Elgindy's financial dealings must be explored both by a grand jury and beyond.

From my personal viewpoint, this not only is prudent but also reasonable.
