What causes capitulation selling/buying? that is a different question.

I don't own gold....(other than gold jewelry <g>)....but IMO what might start a sell off in the various gold stocks would be a Nasdaq rally that involved some of the technology stocks. A Nasdaq rally....(even if it was a short covering rally) might cause a sell off in some of the areas that have been strengths in the market. Those who are long in these stocks might decide to take profits, and move their money into areas that have been "beaten down", and could possibly benefit from a "bounce back" rally.

Thanks for the input Jorj. I have a long way to go before I get a good grip on the stuff that moves the markets. Heading out in the am for a mini-vacation to the beach! Will try to pop in and see how it goes. Happy trading!!
