When my Dad died, back in '72, my mom was reading a Harold Robbins novel. My hubbie and I went to stay with her for a week and she started with the questions of, "What are they doing here?"...and here?" By the time we were finished talking, I explained homosexuality, oral sex, birth control especially condoms, abortion...etc. She was like a little girl wanting to ask the questions and then not wanting to hear the answers. It was really delicate. When I had to talk to my children about sex, it was easy...but to my Mom? weird! How did we ever get here?
