mmmary,

if Tony knew of investigation/arrest

Not an "if" to the best of my knowledge... It's a direct allegation in the government's filing...

why wouldn't he have given the gun and ammo to a family member?

Quite simply because he's the most arrogant fellow I know of these days... <g> Seriously, I have first hand witnessed (on the threads) Tony being admirable and good, even charitable... I know he can be a nice guy when he wants to. But for some reason, he prefers arrogance. Maybe it's genetic or maybe it's something else, but his predominant character trait is arrogance. Remember, I am not a Tony detractor. Nor am I a Tony supporter. I'm in the middle. I'm one of those folks that voted to let him back on SI after he was tossed. He may have a nice side to him, but it's awful hard to see sometimes through all that arrogance...

I think his attorney or someone said he transferred the money to pay for a vacation condo in Lebanon.

Correct, his lawyer did try to explain away the money transfer in that manner. But $700,000 for a vacation condo? In a war-torn, ravaged country? With an unstable government? Where thievery and violence are an everyday occurrence? Where communications are sporadic at best? Where basic infrastructure is non-existent in 80% or more of the country? I don't think so... As the saying goes... "Bullshit a baker, you get a bun. Try to bullshit me, and you get none!" I don't buy the vacation story one iota. What, are they trying to tell me that Lebanon is a vacation hot-spot for Muslim families these days? Just like American Catholics flock to Iraq? Give me a break. Anyone who buys into that vacation condo story has a serious problem with naivete in my opinion...
