I agree totally. Your post sums up what I think are the real issues:

dealing with governments and the media attempting to create a larger controversy for Gov. Davis and Oracle than really exists.

The media just loves pouring gasoline on the post Enron, Global Crossing, WorldCom fire. This to shall pass and the media will move on to the next manufactured crisis and very, very few people will even remember this issue in 12 months.
