I live near Seattle and I can't ever remember reading or hearing anything about William Gates II being anything more than a prominent attorney locally and Bill's mother Mary Gates was a school teacher who aslo served on the University of washington Board of Regents. Those qualifications are nothing special or different than hundreds of American parents around the country then and now. Even the "Lakeside school" often referenced as to where Paul Allen and Bill Gates met isn't really any better than many other private and or public schools in the Seattle area. Yes it is a good school but not out of reach to many families even ones without much wealth. I think you are giving the "Gates family name" in 1975-1980 too much credit. Regards Don

I'm not saying it happened thusly, but I am saying you haven't refuted it yet wait a minute, did you not read the whole post? i provided direct quotes and direct evidence at the bottom of the post, as i said i would.... from the people involved that prove that your version is incorrect? why did you not mention this direct evidence? Just where does Steve Balmer come into the picture? well, now i'm sure that this is all that happened, you didn't read the bottom of that post.... jon.
