Dear Chris,

No, I am not afraid of my government. WE are the government Chris. You and me and our neighbors, and the people you see on the highways and in the stores and on the shores. The people you meet at parties and the people you work with, and the people that buy CDMA cell phones.

I have read and believe in the Constitution of the United States of America, and take seriously the words of the Declaration of Independence. Give them a read. If you choose to be afraid of your government then make sure you do everything in your power to change it, you have the freedom to do that if you wish.

If I have to take my shoe off the next time I try to get on a plane, that is fine by me. Of course I expect everyone must take their shoe off if asked. In my opinion that is a small price to pay to preserve my right to live. Call me naive or disingenuous if you will (oh wait, you already did.)

I don't recall saying that US citizens shouldn't be this or do that, but since in your opinion I did then I guess, as you said, this conversation is over.

I would like to clear one thing up. I didn't say that my ancestors died in the battles they fought. No! They all lived to ripe old ages after enjoying the fruits of their labors in various occupations all centered around the famous "American Dream." You see they were all intelligent because their mothers possessed the genes briefly discussed in post #4707 that John Haymen linked to this thread. My family and I are grateful.

Take care

M
