I was studying Slovak in anticipation of doing the "Roots" thing. I did not think my relatives likely to speak any language in which I could communicate with them. I've since lost interest in my relatives--and most of my language skills--but I would still like to see that part of the world as I understand that it is quite pretty. I have worked hard at seeing all the pretty and interesting places. The Tatras, however, are still on my list. So many places, so little time.
