Good thing you didn't try the Slovak on 'Roots' things. What you would need to brush up on is Hungarian and Latin. Prior to 1918, it was part of the Hungarian Empire. So you would be dealing primarily with Hungarian. The older Church records would be in [mostly] Latin. I hear Krakow is a great holiday place for artsy things. It looks like the High Tatras are about 60 miles south. I think that would be a nice combo for a holiday. A city break and some nice fresh mountain air. jttmab
