eDRAM? <g> Yes, the integrated graphics do add a new twist in how to save parts/money for budget systems. It looks like Nvidia figured out a way to do it, though, and some sacrifice in performance relative to a non-integrated solution would be similar to previous generations.

On a related topic, HardOCP has an interesting article on cooling solutions for Hammer CPUs here: hardocp.com

The article notes an "incredible" force of 40psi but I think they might mean 40 pounds. This is relative to a nominal force of 20lbs for Athlons and 70lbs nominal for P4. The higher force compresses the TIM to reduce it to minimal thickness and thermal resistance. I sent e-mail to the author for clarification on psi vs lbs.

Anand's article noted latency problems unless an on-board frame buffer is added - so I guess so shared memory and higher cost (space and separate memory).
