Do you think AMD bribed all these companies to highlight their Hammer designs, using their vast hoard of cash?

Or is it more likely that they are falling all over eachother because they realize that there is a large market for a soon-to-be-available, revolutionary new product?

LOL. AMD has been "advertising" nothing *but* Hammer for the past 6 months, even now that their roadmap says "Q4". And you might be confusing advertising with showing off a few motherboard reference designs at a trade show. Remember that these motherboard manufacturers sell mainly through the channel, and for them, AMD represents 30-40% of their sales. That's as good a reason to get involved early with AMD's "advertising".
